An accurate security quote needs the assignment’s scope, not just an address and a request for “one guard.” Provide the property or event type, exact location, requested start date, operating dates, daily hours, number of entrances or posts, site size, public access, expected attendance or occupancy, and whether the need is temporary or ongoing.
What to know
Describe the problem to solve and any relevant history: trespassing, theft, vandalism, workplace concerns, gate failures, parking issues, deliveries, restricted areas, special events, or after-hours activity. Share current controls such as fencing, lighting, locks, alarms, cameras, access systems, reception staff, and existing emergency procedures. Identify desired duties, report expectations, armed or unarmed preferences, vehicle or equipment needs, required certifications, dress standards, and client or venue rules. Sensitive details can be handled securely after initial contact.
For events, include attendance, layout, alcohol, ticketing, parking, cash, performers, and the run of show.
