24/7 security provides continuous coverage every day and hour of the week. Depending on the property, that may require multiple guard shifts, mobile patrol support, dispatch, surveillance, or a combination.

Bicycle patrol uses a bicycle to cover areas faster than foot patrol while maintaining closer contact with the property than a vehicle may allow. It can be useful for campuses, shopping areas, events, parks, and large residential communities.

Courtesy patrol is a private security service commonly used by HOAs, apartments, townhomes, and managed communities to observe common areas, encourage compliance with property rules, document concerns, and report incidents. Courtesy patrol is not a police service and should not be presented as having law-enforcement authority.

Foot patrol is a security check performed on foot. It gives the officer close visibility into doors, common areas, walkways, equipment, and conditions that may be missed from a vehicle.

GPS patrol tracking records the location of a patrol device or officer during assigned duties. It can help verify site visits and report completion, but it should be paired with clear post orders, supervision, and meaningful observations.

Long-term security is recurring protection provided under an ongoing service agreement. It allows site knowledge, post orders, reporting trends, supervision, and performance expectations to develop over time.

Mobile patrol uses a vehicle or other mobile method to check one large property or multiple client locations. It is suited to scheduled or randomized visits, perimeter checks, alarm response support, and properties that do not require a full-time standing guard.

On-call emergency assistance means a security provider has a defined process for receiving urgent client requests outside routine scheduling. The available response, time, geographic coverage, and limitations should be confirmed in the service agreement.

A patrol checkpoint is a designated location that a guard must inspect or verify during a patrol. Electronic checkpoints, GPS data, timestamps, photographs, or written notes may be used to confirm completion.

A patrol route is the planned path a guard follows through a property. Routes may include priority areas, checkpoints, entrances, perimeters, equipment, parking lots, and other locations identified in the post orders.

Patrol verification is the process of confirming when and where required security checks occurred. It may use GPS location data, electronic checkpoints, time stamps, supervisor inspections, or a combination of methods.
