The School Security Officer Training page and current course listing describe approximately 80 hours of online instruction followed by approximately 80 hours of required in-person training. The in-person components are separately priced and include emergency-response, First Aid/CPR/AED, and guard training, with armed training when applicable. Confirm the current requirements and complete cost before enrolling.
This private pathway is not automatically equivalent to the ADE/AZPOST program addressed by A.R.S. § 15-249.08. Districts must verify the statutory training requirement for covered personnel, including contractors, while charter schools may choose to require the program. Do not treat a private course as a grant of law-enforcement authority.
